LWPFC Development Theory
We try to develop players through a specific philosophy, such that it becomes a culture, from the first tryout to the last game a senior plays. We want our players to understand how we play and the longer a player is with the club, the deeper the understandinbg of how to play, the system, the movement, the DNA that is LWPFC.
Our Promise
Player First
We provide well-educated and experienced coaches for all our players. Our training directive isolates particular characteristics that we cover. Core training sessions are ball oriented, with every player working with their own ball. Focus is on passing, receiving, dribbling, shooting, heading and sliding. Everything we do is game related and feels like soccer.
Purposeful Training
There is no evidence of a 'fast track' for high achievers, success comes down to practice. Every hour spent training is structured and clearly planned. Training is carried out in a very particular way so players get 1000 touches every session, and purposeful practice effectively contributes to the 10,000 hours that an athlete needs to become an expert.
Our Philosophy
Three pillars guide what we do; players have fun, players develop technically, and players develop a winning mentality. There is much that goes into how we achieve this. Everyone must do the same work. We develop the game from the defensive line. We breathe an offensive spirit. We use the full field to work on depth and breadth. The youngest players base training in technical skills and playing games. We teach the game based on our system of play. We possess the ball.
